Rosa María Tapia Vidal, born August 27, 1997, in Hermosillo, Mexico, has grown into one of the most prominent athletes representing her country on the world stage. She discovered her passion for the sport in her teenage years, juggling her early training with academic responsibilities. In 2019, she made a pivotal move to train under coach Luis Miguel Chávez, setting the foundation for her professional development.

Her international breakthrough came in 2023 with a standout season marked by several impressive results. She earned bronze at the Pan American Games in Santiago and claimed gold at the Pan American Championships in Veracruz. On the global circuit, she reached the podium with a silver medal at the World Triathlon Championship Series race in Yokohama and finished just outside the medals in fourth place at the New Plymouth World Cup.

In 2024, Tapia Vidal continued her ascent with a victory at the Americas Triathlon Cup in La Paz and a memorable win at the World Triathlon Cup in Brasília, where she made up considerable ground on the bike to take the lead on the run. Her steady performances throughout the year earned her a 13th-place finish in the overall Championship Series rankings.

She capped the season by representing Mexico at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, finishing 18th in the individual event. Her Olympic debut was a proud moment, reflecting years of dedicated work and consistent progression.
