TAYLOR-BROWN AND WILDE TAKE THE WINS
GTB BACK ON TOP
After a hard-fought silver in Boston a week ago, Britain’s Georgia Taylor-Brown stepped up to gold at supertri Chicago. The 30-year-old was close to the front for much of the nine-stage triathlon before she seized the initiative on the final leg of the day to score victory for her Crown Racing squad.
Taylor-Brown’s Crown Racing teammate and the newly-crowned Olympic champion Cassandre Beaugrand would finish second, with Taylor Spivey finishing third on home soil for the Stars & Stripes squad. The result saw Crown Racing surge into the series lead ahead of the men’s event in Chicago.

WILDE GETS HIS REVENGE
After silver medals in Boston and at the 2024 Olympic Games, Crown Racing's Hayden Wilde returned to the top of the podium at supertri Chicago in Michigan, USA, securing a decisive win ahead of Podium Racing's Léo Bergere and Vasco Vilaça of Stars & Stripes Racing.
Having witnessed Brownlee Racing's Alex Yee belatedly stride to victory in both Boston and Paris, Wilde looked hungry for gold from the get-go in supertri’s Chicago debut, regularly pushing the pace at the front of the bike course in the nine-discipline multisport race.
The 26-year-old Kiwi would make the decisive move at the start of Stage 3’s run leg before crossing the line in determined fashion to lay down a marker for the rest of the 2024 series. Wilde would score valuable points for his Crown Racing team, while his nemesis Yee would finish 44secs back in eighth in a blow for the Brownlee Racing squad.

Triathlon has traditionally been an individual sport but supertri has introduced Teams. Athletes race together and accumulate points as a team, increasing tactical depth to the racing, different stages to win points and a redistribution of wealth, ensuring all athletes contribute and are supported. It also increases fandom of the sport and encourages outside franchise owners to help drive the League forward.
Each Team consists of four women and four men, and must contain an under-23 athlete.
In 2024, supertri is proud to confirm the four teams who will compete in the League:
Brownlee Racing
Crown Racing
Podium Racing
Stars & Stripes Racing
Olympic and World Champions compete for titles and significant prize money, alongside the very best up and coming talent. Team Owners and Managers lead recruitment for their Teams, and replacements for any injuries or absences, with support from supertri. You can find a list of athletes racing in supertri League 2024 here.
Full start lists for each race are issued in the week leading up to each event.
supertri has turned triathlon into a true spectator sport with an innovative and action packed ‘supertri race format’ that sees athletes race 3 x swim-bike-run without a break. Short distances mean constant action.
300m Swim - 4km Bike - 1.6km Run
Athletes can win a shortcut on the course for their team through their racing, which is then allocated to an individual athlete to take by their Team Manager.
Short Chutes are won by an athlete for their team at the following points:
First across the Mount Line after the first swim
First across the Mount Line after the first bike
First across the Dismount Line after first run
Short Chutes are allocated by Team Managers by the end of the second bike. Short Chutes must only be taken on lap 1 of the third and final run.
Any athlete that falls 90 seconds or more off the leader's pace at the end of any individual lap. It is implemented every lap and measured from the first athlete passing the Mount Line, executed at the Mount Line. Any athlete falling foul of the 90 second rule is shown the Yellow Elimination Flag and is out of the race.
A random draw decides the order in which Team Managers select a starting block for their entire team.
The top 15 athletes score points in the first four Rounds. It is 15 for the winner down to 1 point for 15th place as follows.
For the Grand Finale, which in 2024 takes place in NEOM, there are extra points up for grabs. Here the winner is awarded 20 points, second place 16, third place 14, fourth place 12, and the it rolls down reducing by 1 point each time with 15th receiving 1 point.
The Leagues are based on accumulated points. Points are earned in each Round. Athletes must start three regular League events + the Grand Final to qualify for the supertri Women’s and Men’s Leagues.
All Team members who score points at each Round of supertri will contribute the points they earn as individuals to their Team’s total. All points accrued via the swim, bike and run Leagues also count.
Points are accumulated across the League as follows:
Swim: Points allocated based on time of the first or second swim discipline of the day measured at the swim exit. Points are awarded for the top 3 as 4,2,1.
Bike: Points allocated based on time of the fastest lap measured from Mount to Dismount Line of the first or second bike discipline of the day. Points are awarded for the top 3 as 4,2,1.
Run: Points allocated based on time of the fastest lap measured from Mount Line to Dismount Line of the first or second run discipline of the day. Points are awarded for the top 3 as 4,2,1.
In the case of a tie in the Leagues, the athlete or Team with the best result in the final race will finish ahead of the other athletes or Teams.
