Supertri Relaunches NXT Gen to Champion the Future of Triathlon

Supertri is relaunching NXT Gen, to identify, support, and amplify the voices of individuals and organisations that embody the spirit and future of triathlon. Through this initiative, Supertri will spotlight five inspiring game-changers from its core event cities, empowering them to share their journey and engage with the wider triathlon community.

NXT Gen is a movement designed to build a dynamic, forward-thinking community within the sport. By providing direct support and storytelling opportunities, Supertri aims to showcase the diverse paths that lead people to triathlon and inspire others to take their first step into the sport. After all, Anyone Can Tri.

Supertri is asking people in the local communities in key By Supertri event cities to nominate an individual or group they feel deserves the NXT Gen spotlight. Supertri will then select athletes and community members who are either competing in Supertri events or actively contributing to their local triathlon scene. 

Supertri will select five individuals or groups - one from each of the following core cities - who exemplify passion, resilience, and the drive to push boundaries in the sport:

• Chicago

• Toulouse

• London

• Austin

• Long Beach

The NXT Gen Initiative aims to connect Supertri with local communities and encourage like-minded individuals to rally behind the Class of 2025. By showcasing authentic and compelling stories, Supertri hopes to inspire new fans and age-group racers to engage with the sport - whether in person or virtually. This follows a successful launch year in 2024, where Supertri supported a variety of global initiatives to help promote the future of the sport.

By amplifying these incredible stories, we want to show that triathlon is for everyone, that every journey into the sport is worth celebrating and grow the sport we love. We’re building a community around Supertri and NXT Gen is one of the ways we will celebrate the people who make that community so special and impactful.”

A big drive for the NXT Gen campaign is not only to engage others in the sport of triathlon but also to be able to generate more awareness for these people and groups in hopes that the larger public will support them in some way with donations and resources or any other help that is required to push the sport forward.

Nominations for the NXT Gen Class of 2025 are now open. Supertri invites athletes, community leaders, and supporters to put forward candidates who exemplify the next generation of triathlon.
