Stars & Stripes are looking to show they are on track to develop USA Olympic medallists for LA 2028 as they compete in Supertri League 2025.

The US-based team, who finished third behind Crown Racing and Podium Racing in 2024, is designed to reignite American short-course triathlon. The team is led by manager Parker Spencer - USA Triathlon’s Project Podium Head Coach and Olympic Coach of the Year.

Their 2025 squad, revealed today, blends top-tier US talent with rising stars and international athletes to foster a competitive and collaborative environment. The ultimate goal is to help American athletes return to Olympic success, particularly looking ahead to the LA 2028 Games.

For the men all eyes will be on Project Podium's Reese Vannerson. The much talked LA 28 medal prospect, 20, first got his big break in Supertri racing two years ago, where he gained vital experience while showcasing his blistering run speed. Having taken that learning forward, he has developed into a rising star, and has grabbed World Cup wins and podiums and is ready to measure himself against the best once again. Sullivan Middaugh is another Project Podium athlete in the squad fresh from second place at the PATCO Championships and with world title credentials in XTERRA racing to his hame.

They are joined by another US star in Supertri E 2024 World Champion Chase McQueen, and Canada’s hot young prospect Mathis Beaulieu. Csongor Lehmann of Hungary adds an international feel to the team.

Stars & Stripes women look incredibly strong, with all four of their team members in the current top 20 of the World Triathlon rankings. They are led off by Taylor Spivey, who was part of the USA’s silver medal winning relay team at the Paris Olympics. She is joined by Mexico’s Rosa Maria Tapia Vidal and German stars Nina Eim and Annika Koch.

Stars & Stripes manager, Parker Spencer, said: “I’m excited to build on the momentum from last season and proud to unveil what we believe is one of the strongest rosters in Supertri history. Stars & Stripes Racing will showcase some of the top talent on the WTCS circuit, featuring a mix of proven podium contenders and rising stars from around the world, to make us competitive and help mentor and develop the next generation of US talent.

“On the women’s side, Nina Eim, Taylor Spivey, Rosa Maria Tapia Vidal, and Annika Koch bring unmatched consistency and firepower, each with extensive experience and multiple WTCS medals to their names. For the men, Chase McQueen continues to establish himself as one of the premier short-course athletes in the world and is having the best season of his career in 2025.

“We’re also thrilled to welcome Csongor Lehmann, who has shown incredible consistency as one of the best men in short course triathlon over the last several seasons. Crucially, we also have three of the most promising young names in the sport, Project Podium’s Reese Vannerson and Sullivan Middaugh as well as Mathias Beaulieu. With World Cup podiums, XTERRA titles and Junior World Championship medals already to their credit, both are poised to lead the next generation of North American triathlon on the global stage.

“2025 is the year Crown Racing  gets knocked off the top step of the podium and I believe Stars & Stripes Racing is the team to do it. With this roster, we have the depth, talent, and hunger to challenge the best in the world and reshape the Supertri podium.”

Stars & Stripes is closely integrated with Project Podium, offering young American talent opportunities to race at the highest level. Stars & Stripes Racing aligns with Supertri’s broader commitment to growing triathlon in the US, not just through elite racing but also through mass participation events like the Chicago, Long Beach, Austin and Kerrville triathlons aimed at increasing accessibility and visibility of the sport.

Each team in Supertri League 2025 can name four male and four female athletes at each event. All points accrued by the athletes count towards the Teams League over the course of the season.

The athletes get their first taste of Supertri action this year in Toronto on July 26, before tackling the other venues so far announced for 2025, which include Chicago (August 23), Jersey (September 21) and Toulouse (October 5).

The remaining Supertri League teams will be announced over the coming weeks.
