Supertri NXTgen Spotlight: Women in Tri UK

As we continue to celebrate the voices and changemakers shaping the future of triathlon, we’re proud to introduce our second NXTgen campaign nominee: Women in Tri UK.
The Supertri NXTgen campaign highlights inspiring athletes and organizations in each of our host markets—those who are driving real impact in the community and pushing the boundaries of what the sport can be. Following our first spotlight on Dare2Tri and Ryan Quilty in Chicago, we’re heading across the pond to celebrate a movement that’s breaking barriers and building community for women in triathlon.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Supertri for spotlighting the work we’re doing at Women in Tri UK. Visibility like this matters—it opens doors, starts conversations, and reminds women everywhere that triathlon can be for them too: This is just the beginning of our journey
We’re excited to keep working with Supertri to bring our inclusive race policies to life across all their events. Together, we’re not just imagining a better future for triathlon, we’re building it.” — Bianca Fernandez-Clark, Chair & Co-founder, Women in Tri UK
What They Do
Women in Tri UK focuses on these powerful pillars:
First Triathlon Programme: This initiative offers support to women facing barriers, helping them take on their first ever triathlon. Many participants start with little to no background in swimming, cycling, or running. In 2025, they have supported over 70 new triathletes in the UK.
Mentorship Programme: A peer-to-peer programme that pairs beginners with experienced triathletes to offer guidance, encouragement, and accountability. Over 200 women have been mentored through the programme since inception.
Community: Creating a welcoming space for women of all backgrounds, skill levels, and body types to connect, share stories, and find encouragement through every stage of their triathlon journey.
Advocacy: Raising awareness of inequalities in triathlon—from start lists and prize money to kit design and media representation—while working with race organizers and governing bodies to create meaningful change.
Inspiration & Visibility: Through social media storytelling, athlete features, and brand partnerships, they spotlight real women across the triathlon spectrum—showing that the sport is for everyone.
