Building Toward LA 2028 Olympic Glory

Stars & Stripes return to the Supertri League in 2025 with a clear mission: to reignite American short-course triathlon and build a pathway to Olympic success at the LA 2028 Games. Following a strong third-place finish in 2024 behind Crown Racing and Podium Racing, the US-based team is poised to make an even greater impact this season.

Their 2025 squad blends elite American talent, rising domestic prospects, and standout international athletes—creating a dynamic, high-performance environment built to push boundaries and foster Olympic-caliber excellence.

Both Stars & Stripes Racing and the enhanced elite racing slots for Project Podium are part of supertri’s commitment to the ‘Future of Triathlon’ in the USA, to inspiring a new generation of short course racing fans, and encouraging more young people into the sport via accessible mass participation events such as Chicago Triathlon and Long Beach Legacy Triathlon.

The team is led by acclaimed manager Parker Spencer, USA Triathlon’s Project Podium Head Coach and the reigning Olympic Coach of the Year. Under his guidance, Stars & Stripes has assembled a 2025 squad that blends elite American talent, rising domestic prospects, and standout international athletes—creating a dynamic, high-performance environment built to push boundaries and foster Olympic-caliber excellence.

supertri CEO and Co-Founder, Michael D’hulst, said: “Parker Spencer shares our vision on the huge potential for growth in the sport in the USA, by producing inspiring athletes that can thrive in LA 28 and ride a wave of momentum in interest, backed up by opportunities for people to compete in world class events no matter what their ability rather than seeing long distance events that have dominated the US triathlon scene and feeling the sport is not for them.”

Meet the Athletes: Driving the 2025 Campaign

At the forefront is Reese Vannerson, a Project Podium athlete and LA 2028 medal hopeful. Just 20 years old, Vannerson made his Supertri debut two years ago and has since claimed World Cup podiums with his electric run speed and tactical maturity. He’s joined by Sullivan Middaugh, fresh off a silver medal at the PATCO Championships and a world-class XTERRA resume, bringing strength and versatility to the men’s side.

They’re supported by Chase McQueen, the Supertri E 2024 World Champion and one of the most explosive American talents on the circuit. Rounding out the men's roster are Canada’s rising star Mathis Beaulieu and Hungary’s Csongor Lehmann, adding depth and international firepower to the lineup.

The Stars & Stripes women’s team is a formidable quartet, with all four athletes ranked in the top 20 of the World Triathlon standings. Leading the charge is Taylor Spivey, a veteran of the silver medal–winning USA mixed relay team at the Paris Olympics. Alongside her are three global talents: Rosa Maria Tapia Vidal of Mexico, and Germany’s Nina Eim and Annika Koch - each bringing speed, resilience, and major race experience to the squad.
