Home Glory For Conway As He Runs To Victory At Blenheim Palace

Ollie Conway delighted the home crowd to take victory at Supertri Blenheim Palace, holding off Canada's Charles Paquet and Australia's Luke Willian at the second round of the Supertri Pro Series.

Ollie Conway delighted the home crowd to take victory at Supertri Blenheim Palace, holding off Canada's Charles Paquet and Australia's Luke Willian at the second round of the Supertri Pro Series.

The 20-year-old, who was crowned World Triathlon U23 Champion in 2025, brought all of his running pedigree to bear on a course he knows well, crossing the line in 55:51 to claim a statement win on home soil at the UK's largest triathlon.

Conway led a ten deep bike pack into T2 before he, Charles Paquet and Luke Willian surged ahead on the run.

Conway proved to be the faster, though Paquet pushed Conway all the way and came home just four seconds adrift in 55:55, with Willian completing the podium in 56:02. There was real depth on show too, with Britain's Harry Leleu and Fynn Batkin next across the line, the Netherlands' Mitch Kolkman in sixth and home favourite Hugo Milner in seventh.

Ollie Conway said: “I grew up here essentially a couple of minutes away before going to Uni and I used to do my run sessions around here. It’s such a nice location and course, technical and hilly. A really nice course. The run up from the swim mixed it up and I am not the greatest swimmer so I can catch up a few positions there and the hills in the bike and the run suit me well.

“I really wanted a spot in the Final. I raced Jersey last year and it was such a great course, just like this one, so I really wanted a spot. All the big hitters are going there. I know Alex (Yee) is in and Matt (Hauser). So many fast guys so I really want to get stuck in and see where I am.”

Supertri Blenheim Palace was the second race of the Supertri Pro Series, which sees athletes — from elite to first timers — race under a unified race format. The pros competed over a sprint distance, draft-legal format. The Pro Series race also doubled as a stage of British Triathlon's Super Series, giving the cream of British elite and development talent the chance to line up alongside international stars. The event pays prize money 10 deep, and three athletes per gender qualified for the Supertri Pro Series Final in Jersey on September 6, with its $800,000 prize pool.

The three men who earned qualification for the Pro Series Final were Oliver Conway, Charles Paquet and Luke Willian.

Luke Willian said: “The whole reason for me to come here in this stacked field was to get to Jersey. I have never raced Supertri before and this event and the Pro Series last year got me here to the start line. I am really happy to have got my ticket to Jersey. There’s so many great guys going to race and it will be great to test myself against them.”

The day also crowned a British Triathlon Super Series podium, decided by the leading home finishers. Conway took top honours as the first Brit home, with Harry Leleu and Fynn Batkin joining him on the Super Series podium in second and third.

The series continues in Toronto on July 26 before the Supertri Pro Series Final in Jersey on September 6.
