Supertri CEO and co-founder Michael D’Hulst said: “Supertri E is redefining what triathlon can be — fast, intense, and made for a new generation of fans. It’s the most innovative format the sport has ever seen, and it sits at the heart of the Supertri ecosystem, where elite sport, grassroots, entertainment, and technology converge. We’re not just evolving triathlon — we’re setting the blueprint for its future. With its unique spectator appeal, global reach, and format designed for broadcast, we believe Supertri E has the potential to resonate far beyond our sport, even within an Olympic context.”
With poolside commentators bringing the hype, a live DJ dropping beats, and the roar of the crowd, Supertri E delivered a sporting spectacle like no other - blending real-life racing with immersive tech on the MyWhoosh platform, where athlete avatars moved in real time with the pros on self-powered treadmills and static bikes.
And the racing? Unreal.
In the men’s final, France’s Maxime Hueber-Moosbrugger and the USA’s Chase McQueen went head-to-head in an all-out race to the line, ending in what many are calling one of the best finishes in triathlon history. After three intense stages with McQueen leading the way from the start, it all came down to mere meters on the final run - Maxime just edging ahead to snatch the win in front of a crowd going absolutely wild.
Maciej Bruzdziak who won bronze in the men’s race said: “The crowd was absolutely electric and gave me the energy I needed on that final run to fight for the podium, especially my family who were there cheering louder than anyone. Moments like this are what I train for.”
The women’s final saw Olympic Champion Cassandre Beaugrand put on a masterclass from start to finish. The French star laid down her intent early and never let up, fending off a stacked field - including defending champion Beth Potter - to take the 2025 Supertri E world title in dominant style.
For the first time, Supertri collaborated with Loughborough University London to host an observer programme for a group of masters students. They were given the opportunity to observe event operations, take a guided tour of the venue ahead of the event, and learn firsthand from the Supertri team how the event is delivered - from layout and technology to the field of play.
One student taking part, Aaron Lougher, said: “"I am aspiring to pursue a career in organising sports events and the observer programme has only added to this further. It was amazing to see how Supertri and MyWhoosh have quite literally innovated in triathlon by integrating virtual avatars for the cycling and running with the Supertri format, making it much more of a spectator sport and resulting in an event with a brilliant atmosphere on the day."
With Supertri E, the sport is breaking new ground - uniting esports-style racing with world-class endurance and show-stopping production. The event proved that this is more than just racing. It’s entertainment, tech, and sport all rolled into one, and fans couldn’t get enough.
From the packed stands to the on-screen visuals and high-stakes drama, Supertri E is redefining what triathlon can be. This isn’t just the future, it’s right now and there’s more to come.
