Supertri Sells Out Two North American Triathlons with Toronto Set to Follow, as Chicago Closes In on Record 9,500 Athletes
Supertri can today announce that two of its North American events have sold out ahead of race day, with a third on the brink of selling out and Supertri Chicago on course for a record field of 9,500 athletes this August.

Supertri can today announce that two of its North American events have sold out ahead of race day, with a third on the brink of selling out and Supertri Chicago on course for a record field of 9,500 athletes this August.
Supertri New Jersey (July 19, Mercer County Park, NJ) and Supertri Long Beach (July 19, Long Beach, CA) have both reached capacity, while Supertri Toronto (July 26, Toronto, ON) is close to selling out, marking a landmark summer for Supertri and underlining the growing demand for premium, short course triathlon festivals in iconic urban locations.
The sellouts represent significant year-over-year growth across Supertri's portfolio:
Supertri Long Beach has sold out with a field 30% larger than 2025. California's premier triathlon, with its breakwater-sheltered ocean swim and flat, fast coastal course, continues to grow as one of Southern California's most in-demand race days.
Supertri Toronto is close to selling out with 35% year-over-year growth, with a number of race waves already at capacity and the event expected to reach a full sellout ahead of race day. Now in its 14th year, Canada's urban triathlon takes athletes through closed downtown streets beneath the CN Tower, and the unique chance to race along the Gardiner Expressway.
Supertri Chicago (August 22-23) is on track to sell out with an anticipated 9,500 participants, an increase of 1,000 athletes from 2025. Already the largest triathlon in the United States, the Lake Michigan swim, closed-road bike along the lakefront and iconic urban finish put the event firmly on course to meet Supertri's stated long-term ambition: to make Supertri Chicago the biggest triathlon in the world.
Supertri New Jersey has sold out in its first year under the Supertri banner, even with the World Cup final taking place in New Jersey on the same day. Ranked among the top five triathlons in the USA and featuring one of the fastest courses on the East Coast, the event has reached its 2026 course capacity.
Michael D'hulst, Supertri CEO and Co-Founder, said: "These sellouts are not just numbers. They represent thousands of people, from first-timers to seasoned racers, challenging themselves and choosing Supertri as their race organiser. Chicago is the clearest signal yet of where this sport is heading, and we believe it will become the biggest triathlon in the world in the coming years."
The growth reflects Supertri's mission to inspire the competitor in everyone. In 2025, 41% of Supertri participants were first-time triathletes, and the series has set a goal of welcoming 30,000 athletes - including 10,000 first-timers - in 2026 through its dedicated First Timer Program, premium events, short-distance race formats and festival-style event experiences.
Final places remain in Supertri Toronto (July 26), and athletes can still register for Supertri Chicago (August 22-23), Supertri Kerrville (September 26-27) and Supertri Toulouse (October 4) at supertri.com.
