Toulouse: Location Log Book

It's race number four of the 2024 supertri League and we're back in Toulouse! Expect huge crowds that have become synonymous with the event over its first two editions line the course for one of the most spectacular circuits the sport has ever seen. In the area? The worlds best triathletes will be descending on the city to provide some eletric racing on a fast paced street course! Home favourites and Olympic medalists Leo Bergere and Cassandre Beaugrand will be lining up in what could be a crucial race for both of their chances in the individual standings.

Canal du Midi: This tree-lined canal offers one of the most scenic and peaceful running routes in Toulouse. The flat, wide paths make it perfect for both casual joggers and those looking for a longer, uninterrupted run. You’ll pass by historic locks, charming bridges, and shaded paths, making every kilometer interesting and picturesque.

Jardin des Plantes: Located near the city center, this botanical garden has well-maintained paths and plenty of greenery, making it a relaxing place for a short run amidst nature. The park features scenic routes through flower beds, ponds, and wooded areas, and is also a great spot for post-run stretches in a tranquil environment.

Prairie des Filtres: A riverside park along the Garonne, ideal for a picturesque run with views of the river and the Pont Neuf. The wide open spaces are perfect for runners of all levels, and you can enjoy the fresh air while running alongside locals enjoying picnics or casual walks. For an extended route, connect your run to the paths along the Quai de la Daurade.

Canal de Garonne: This scenic route follows the Garonne River and connects with the Canal du Midi, offering a beautiful, flat path for cycling. It’s perfect for a relaxed ride through the countryside, passing by rural landscapes and quaint villages. Cyclists can enjoy the fresh air while stopping at riverside picnic areas or local cafes along the way.

La Coulée Verte: A greenway path starting from the city center and extending through parks and residential areas, providing a peaceful and safe route for cyclists. The path is separated from traffic, making it family-friendly and suitable for riders of all levels. As you cycle through this leafy corridor, you’ll pass parks, open spaces, and quiet neighborhoods.

Avenue de Muret to Lac de la Ramée: A pleasant cycling route from Toulouse to the recreational area of Lac de la Ramée, where you can enjoy a ride around the lake and relax in nature. This route is popular for both casual and more serious cyclists, and once at the lake, you can enjoy other activities like swimming or paddleboarding, making it a versatile day out.

Piscine Nakache: Located on Île du Ramier, Piscine Nakache offers both indoor and outdoor pools, with a large open-air pool perfect for summer days. The complex often hosts swimming competitions, adding to its lively atmosphere.

Lac de la Ramée: Just outside Toulouse, this large lake is a great place for open water swimming, with designated swimming areas and beautiful natural surroundings. The lake offers a refreshing escape from the city, with lifeguarded swimming zones in summer. It's also a hub for water sports, such as sailing and kayaking, making it perfect for a full day of aquatic activities.
