World-Class International Field To Take On British Stars In Supertri Pro Series At Blenheim Palace As Amateur Entries Close

A world-class international professional field will take on the best of British at Blenheim Palace this Sunday, June 7, as the Supertri Pro Series makes its debut at Supertri Blenheim Palace, the UK’s largest triathlon.

A world-class international professional field will take on the best of British at Blenheim Palace this Sunday, June 7, as the Supertri Pro Series makes its debut at Supertri Blenheim Palace, the UK’s largest triathlon.

The Pro Series race at Blenheim Palace is also a stage of British Triathlon's Super Series, meaning the cream of British elite and development talent will line up alongside international stars for a draft-legal sprint distance race across the Blenheim Palace estate. Three athletes per gender will qualify for the Supertri Pro Series Final in Jersey and its $800,000 prize pool. All Pro Series events pay prize money 10 deep to encourage development in the sport.

France's Léonie Périault, one of the most decorated athletes on the international circuit, and compatriot Emma Lombardi race in the women's field alongside Belgium's Jolien Vermeylen and Slovakia's Zuzana Michaličková, who finished third at the series opener in Austin. Racing on home soil, Great Britain's Jess Fullagar and Olivia Mathias will be among those carrying the hopes of the home crowd, with both athletes looking to make their mark on an international stage on a course they know well.

On the men's side, Australia's Luke Willian, Italy's Alessio Crociani and Canada's Charles Paquet add international depth to a field dominated by British talent. Former Supertri E World Champion Chase McQueen (USA) and Netherlands' Mitch Kolkman are also among the confirmed starters, while Great Britain's Oliver Conway and Hugo Milner represent some of the most exciting emerging British talent in the field, racing in front of a home crowd at one of triathlon's most iconic venues.

Blenheim Palace is the second of three Supertri Pro Series regular season races. At the opening round in Austin last week, Germany's Tim Hellwig took men's victory after a bike breakaway alongside Seth Rider before powering home with a stunning run, while USA's Gwen Jorgensen produced a blistering 5km to come from sixth to first and claim the women's title. The series continues in Toronto on July 26 before the Supertri Pro Series Final in Jersey on September 6, where the richest single-day prize purse in triathlon this year awaits.

Amateur athletes across the Supertri Blenheim Palace weekend, June 6-7, race the same course as the professionals through the grounds of Blenheim Palace. The event offers Super Sprint and Sprint distances, as well as the Weekend Warrior, where Jonny Brownlee is attempting to set a new record of 10 sprint triathlons across the weekend, racing alongside amateurs throughout. Last entries are available via the Supertri website.
